Press Release: NIBRT Adds Advanced Filling and Isolator System to Bioprocessing Training Programme
Dublin, Ireland, 19th September 2024 – NIBRT (National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training) is proud to announce the addition of cutting-edge filling and isolator technology to its advanced bioprocessing training programme. This state-of-the-art equipment ensures that trainees will gain hands-on experience with the latest advancements in aseptic syringe filling, further solidifying NIBRT’s role as a global leader in bioprocessing education and training.
“At NIBRT, we are committed to ensuring that our trainees have access to the most advanced and relevant technology in the biopharmaceutical industry,” said Darrin Morrissey, CEO at NIBRT. “The addition of this state-of-the-art filling and isolator system for aseptic syringe filling allows us to continue delivering world-class training that meets the highest standards of modern aseptic processing. This investment not only enhances the skills of our trainees but also ensures that they are fully prepared to operate in the cutting-edge environments of today’s biopharma facilities.”
The new equipment features innovative systems designed to meet the rigorous demands of modern biopharma production, providing industry professionals and trainees with access to world-class technology used in aseptic fill-finish operations.
Key Features of the New Equipment Include:
- Restricted Access Barrier Systems (RABS) and Isolator Technology: Maintaining a Grade A (ISO 5) environment.
- Automated Decontamination: The system employs vaporised hydrogen peroxide (VHP) for thorough and efficient decontamination, ensuring sterile conditions are maintained.
- Cutting-Edge Filling Automation: Optimised for Ready-to-Use (RTU) nested syringes, the automated filling technology supports precise, reliable, and efficient fill-finish operations.
- Advanced Aseptic Material Transfer Technology: The system integrates two Rapid Transfer Ports (RTPs) and Sterile Access and Retrieval Technology (SART) for safe and sterile material transfer.
Key Benefits for Trainees:
- Industry-Leading Technology Training: Trainees will work hands-on with the most advanced equipment in the fill-finish process, preparing them for the complexities of modern biopharma production.
- Comprehensive Aseptic Training: Participants will learn to effectively operate both Isolator and RABS systems, gaining expertise in aseptic processing and ensuring strict contamination control.
- Automated Decontamination Proficiency: Trainees will develop practical skills in the use of vaporised hydrogen peroxide for automated decontamination processes.
- Aseptic Processing and Material Transfer Expertise: Trainees will gain critical experience operating RTPs and SART ports, ensuring safe, sterile handling of materials in aseptic environments.
